Today in cognitive dissonance: the reaction to the Grammies
(in a way it’s good because it’s an awful, awful album, but ignorance is still ignorance even if it’s also bliss by external measures)
Allow me to pick my jaw up off the floor. At the risk of cliche/hyperbole, everyone thought Nero was crazy to let Rome burn because it was the height of civilization but maybe civilization just isn’t worth saving. I could continue on but I don’t really a damn for the band or album to expend more energy. Yet, this so fucking offensive.
Dude, it’s the Grammies. The GRAMMIES. If you’re looking to things like the Grammies for reassurance as to the state of our civilization, then you deserve the incredulity and despair.
